Hi everyone, Dale here and in today’s topic I want to discuss some of the differences in the mindsets of Why Do Rich Get Richer Poor Get Poorer, and in the following paragraphs I hope to be able to break it down into the two different thought processes between the rich and the poor.
I hope by the time you get to the end of this post you will have a better understanding of why the rich continue to get richer. And the poor get poorer what you can do if you grew up poor to change your mindset for success. Learn some of how the rich are taught to think differently and how you can learn too.
What Are Limiting Beliefs And How Do They Determine Success
Well, the cold hard truth of it all is limiting beliefs come from the way we were taught to think and what we are taught to believe when we are young. Everyone we ever came into contact with as a child imposed upon us their truths and beliefs which we took on as our truths and beliefs.
Examples Of Limiting Beliefs
- You’re not smart enough
- You’re not pretty enough
- You’re dumb
- You’re a clumsy idiot
- You’re too fat
- You’re too skinny
- Money is the root of all evil
- Money doesn’t grow on trees
- You’re too tall
- You’re too short
- You won’t ever amount to anything
- You can’t do this or that
- You have got to know your limitations
Well, this should be enough for you to get the point. There are many more you could add to this list but if you will notice every single limiting belief which you may still have are all of a lacking mindset and not one for success. These are examples of what poor people are taught.
How many times in your life have you come up with a great idea only then, to be told, it was a stupid idea? Or you aren’t smart enough to pull it off? Or it won’t work! And then you let your dream die or give up on the idea altogether. Don’t let anyone take your dreams away from you including family and friends!
If the surrounding people are not supportive of your dreams or ideas, then you need new friends or distance yourself from negative family members because you don’t need their approval or anyone else’s.
How To Create The Mindset For Success
Limiting beliefs and seeking approval are two things you need to work on eliminating to create a mindset for success. You have to be willing to work harder on yourself than you do at your jobs. Another thing the rich understand very well is that your mind is your greatest asset so be very careful about who you choose to listen too.
Here is another cold hard fact! If you are not as successful as you would like to be you have no one to blame but yourself for your situation. What steps are you taking on a daily, weekly, monthly basis to improve your current position?
If you know, you’re miserable with your current job, but you don’t want to leave because you’re not sure what else to do; then I would like to make a suggestion. Turn off the television and any other distractions and spend some serious time in deep thought thinking about what kind of work would bring meaning and joy into your life and write it down.
What do you love? What do you get excited about learning or want to get better at doing? What’s the one thing that dominates your thoughts even when you’re not doing it? Now then figure out what it is about it that makes you happy. Then think about how to turn your idea into something of value to enrich other peoples lives, and the money will follow as a result.
One of the most common excuses for people not starting their own business is that they don’t have enough time or don’t have the money and know how. If it is something, you are not sure of how to do you can start learning by studying and reading books about the subject in your spare time.
The Wealthy Have Learned The Art Of Time Management
We all have the same amount of time no matter if you are rich or poor there are only 24 hours in a day. You are the one who has to take control of your life and your time. Which is something else rich people do quite well!
If you want to run a successful business while working full-time, you need to become an expert at productivity and time management. In the beginning, you are going to have to make some sacrifices and buckle down. You will be surprised at what you can accomplish in an hour or two in the evenings and a few hours on the weekends.
I recently read a study that showed 87 percent of workers are not happy in their current jobs. They’re just living for the weekend, hoping to have a little fun that will provide some meaning as to why they stay at a job they hate. But the weekend doesn’t last very long.
So many people today are killing their happiness. They work their 9-to-5 job, year after year, while they try to ignore a growing realization that they are trapped and don’t see a way out. You know you’re not happy in your current job, but you’re afraid to leave because of the health insurance, or the retirement plan, or because you have no idea where to go or what to do.
The bottom line is, rich people are wired to take control of their destiny and maximize every opportunity while poor people let life happen to them. The good news is, you don’t have to be born wealthy to adopt a mindset for success.
You can start today and choose not just to spend your time working in a job you hate but by investing your spare time in learning something new. Once you have identified what it is you are passionate about you’ll be able to figure out what direction to invest your time and money.
It Is well worth it to put in the time and effort it takes to stare your misery in the face and figure out a better path than staying in a job you hate that is never going to bring you any happiness or joy.
Maybe you do have an idea of starting your own business, but you’re afraid of failing because of those limiting beliefs I mentioned above that you haven’t dealt with yet. Or maybe you want to start your own business, but you haven’t figured out what kind of business.
I know you think it takes a lot of money to start a business. Start small and as a side income while you are still working your 9 to 5 job. Invest your time, energy, and money into learning what you need to know about doing your business.
If you have no idea as to what kind of business you would like to do. I would suggest either affiliate or network marketing. You can start either one of these businesses with very little investment.
The Rich Don’t Work For Money
The rich don’t work for the money they work to create assets that will, in turn, make them more money. They have learned the differences between good debts and bad debts and how to use them to their advantage. They are taught to take control of their destiny.
The rich learn about businesses, finances, assets, good debts, bad debts, investments, taxes, outsourcing menial tasks, time management, profits and losses, and how to make money work for them instead of working for money. These are all some examples of a mindset for success.
The poor are taught to go out get a job work hard for most of their lives in hopes of someday being able to retire only to discover retirement in most cases isn’t enough to live. Reality sets in that they have worked hard their entire young adult life into old age and sacrificed so much of their lives all for what.
The poor learn all of those limiting beliefs mentioned up above which keeps them afraid to take a risk and create the life of their dreams. They accept life as what is, instead of what could be, if they would only learn how to take control of their destiny. They are taught in some instances to resent the rich because after all money is the root of all evil.
Rich People Know How To Make Their Money Work For Them
Rich people invest time and money in learning and self-education about things to create more income whereas poor people waste their time and money on things that will not increase their bottom lines.
So Why Do Rich Get Richer Poor Get Poorer the answer is it’s all in the mindset. The good news is the mindset can be changed and developed into a success mindset by learning, reading good books, developing new skills, and listening to the right people.
Always ask yourself. Who is this person and why should I listen to them? Have they achieved in life the things you wish to accomplish? Find a good mentor and learn from them and if you can’t find someone, pick up a few books or start listening to podcasts from the people who are successful.
So my question to you is when are you going to start taking control of your destiny? Setting goals and having a purpose is the greatest thing ever so get off your rear ends and get out there and find yours.
Don’t let your fears continue holding you hostage to a job that makes you miserable. Learn how to overcome those limiting beliefs and put aside those fears and self-doubts. Learn to take some risks while you still have your full-time job to rely on until you no longer need that job.
Habits Of The Wealthy
Well, I am going to wrap this post up with a video by the late Jim Rohn titled Habits Of The Wealthy. Jim was a great mentor to thousands of people.
I hope you found some value in this post and as always if you have any questions, comments, or something you would like to share, please leave them in the comments section. I would love to hear from you.

The key word here is Mindset. I’m fed up with people who complain about their lot yet do absolutely nothing to change their lives. It all starts with their mindset. What are you not happy with? What do you want to see changing? How can you make those changes? All too often people just sit back and wait for their lives to change or even worse, they sit and wait for that big lottery win. Change doesn’t happen. You have to MAKE it happen. Go after your dreams and they’ll land in your lap.
Hi JyI, I agree with you 150% that is exactly what inspired me to write this post. I worked for over 30 years in a company, and all I ever heard out of people was how they hated their job or this person or that one and that they weren’t making enough money, but they never did one thing to change their situation.
That is the biggest problem is people sit back waiting and hoping their situation will change. If a person isn’t happy with their life or circumstances, it is up to them to change it they are the only ones who can.
A person doesn’t have to make huge drastic changes in their lives to better themselves. How hard is it to pick up a book or listen to a podcast on your way to and from work to learn something new?
Thanks for stopping by JyI, I appreciate you!
Best wishes!

Hi Dale, thanks for coming up with a great article like this about why rich people keep getting richer and poor people getting poorer which basically is the mindset. In other ways, I see rich people as people that love to solve problems in areas they find themselves be it their neighborhood or communities. They are always at the peak of solving human being problems, and in the process of doing so, they are making income through the services they are rendering… They are always optimistic about the situation around them. My on little quote I like to say about rich people, “I will also be rich one day.”
Hi Yormith96, thanks for stopping by and you are welcome. You are right the answer is to find something you are passionate about and then to figure out how to make it useful for other people and then the money will follow.
For every hurdle or obstacle in one’s path, there is always a lesson to be learned from it and having a positive, optimistic attitude will help you to find the answer.
Yormith96 keep dreaming Big because it takes the same amount of energy as it does in dreaming small. Shoot for the moon, and if you only hit the stars, you still will rise higher than everyone sitting on the couch doing nothing but complaining.
Best wishes!

This is a very interesting analogy about rich and poor. I do believe that it is the mindset that sets a person into how they feel about something.
I totally agree with creating a mindset for success. I try and set goals and take steps every day to reach those goals. And of course, every step requires action!
Time is money, and we all get the same 24 hours in every day. What I am taking from this is that you have to work smart, not so much hard.
It makes total sense to have your money work for you and not the other way around. What is the one thing here that is the most important for success would you say?
Hey Rob, I believe the mindset is the key to success because without the right mindset most people are doomed to work till old age without ever having accomplished their dreams.
Every New Year I write out a list of goals and place them where I can see them every day and night. I always write down more goals than I will ever be able to accomplish in a year. As I complete each goal, I mark it off the list and the ones I don’t get too I put them on the new list and add more to it this way I am always working on something.
Exactly right Rob! Work smarter not harder! Most poor people work hard, but by the time they get their paycheck and pay the bills they haven’t anything left to show for all of the work they did. They tend to spend any money they have left over on things which will not make them any more income.
Well, Rob if I had to narrow it down to one thing it would be to work harder on ones personal self-development than you do at your 9-5 job.
Best wishes!

Amazing lessons learnt from this beautiful article, the fact that it is expository and at the same time imploring is enough. This singular post is all the supple enlightenment that a young life starter requires. And I am indeed thankful for the chance to read this. The values of time management are actually infinite, this I learnt in my first year at school. This beautiful post has steered me aright and has shed light on a lot of dark sides. Cheers.
Hi Oneal, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment I hope you found some value within my article. I find when I talk to people, and I hear them say things like I can’t do this, or I can’t do that, I know it stems from childhood and what they were taught to believe about themselves — those limiting beliefs which are holding them back in life.
Another thing which holds some people back is maybe they learned as a child the saying “It’s Not Your Fault.” So they never learn to take responsibility for anything which goes wrong in their lives. “It’s Always Someone Else’s Fault.” Which is called the victim mentality!
Best wishes!

How the assertive the article is! The article is full of knowledge. we, the people are divided, two groups. Rich and poor. the writer has described here the rich man how to rich more & the poor how to poorer. he said that Richman does work, but don’t think to be rich on the other hand the poor work hard to live and develop them. but cannot dowel. I think the article is a reality of life. I so much thank the writer for the post.
Hey Jannatuljui, thank you for the compliments. When a person grows up in a low-income family they have to learn to work harder on themselves to develop a mindset for success. Stop blaming everyone else for their shortcomings and take full responsibility for their lives.
When the wealthy spend money, they purchase assets which will create them more income while the low-income families spend what money they have left over after paying the bills on materialistic things which won’t earn them any more revenue.
So we need to learn how to work smarter not harder, and also to spend our money more wisely.
Best wishes!

I totally agree with you, and I have to say that the difference between the poor and the rich is that the poor do not set a goal, and we are not committed to change. Recently I attended a seminar on personal development and there I understood that it only depends on us to achieve our goals and stop blaming others for our problems and failures.
Thank you for sharing this great information very well explained it and a lot of value.
Hi GVporras, yes lots of people are bad at setting goals for themselves and like you said they are not committed to change. I myself like change; it’s what keeps life exciting and worth living.
Personal development is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves and spend our money on learning. I am happy to hear you got a chance to go to a seminar on the subject and it sounds like you came away from it with the right attitude.
You are very welcome GVporras and thank you for the compliments.
Best wishes to you my friend!
